Chistopher Houston Carson, better known as Kit Carson, was a frontiersman. He was a fur trapper, wilderness guide, Inidan agent an U. S. Army Officer. He became a frontier legend in his own lifetime by biographies and new articles, and exaggerated versions of his exploits wher the subject of dime novels.
